What You Need

Every Tidesy ships with the device and a stand. You supply a USB-C cable and a power source (any phone charger, USB port, or power bank rated 5V 2A). You also need a 2.4 GHz WiFi network with internet access. That is everything.

No app to install. No account to create. No subscription. Setup happens entirely through a web browser on your phone or computer.

Setup in Four Steps

1

Plug In

Connect the USB-C cable and power it on. The boot screen appears within seconds. Insert the stand into the back slot at your preferred angle (10 or 15 degrees).

2

Connect to the Setup Hotspot

On your phone or computer, join the WiFi network called TidesySetup with the password tide1234. Open a browser and go to 192.168.4.1 to launch the setup wizard.

3

Walk Through the Wizard

Three simple sections: connect your home WiFi (2.4 GHz), pick your tide stations from the ~3,000 NOAA stations, and set your display preferences (view format, brightness, night mode, alerts, colors). The station directory downloads automatically the first time, about 60 seconds.

4

Save and Go

Tap Save Configuration. Tidesy restarts, connects to your WiFi, fetches tide data, and the display comes alive. Open tidesy.local in any browser on your network for the full web dashboard.

Picking Your Stations

Tidesy downloads the full NOAA station directory and suggests the ones nearest to your location, listed with their distances in miles. You can also search by station name or NOAA ID, and filter by state. Pick one to three stations. Most people start with the one closest to their stretch of coast and add more later if they want to compare conditions at different spots.

Change Settings Anytime

To change the settings of your Tidesy, reset it in the online experience.

Move Between Networks

Tidesy remembers up to 30 WiFi networks and auto-connects to the strongest known one. It even remembers your location for each network, so moving between home and beach house is seamless.
